1991 Gibson SG Celebrity + OHSC

The Gibson SG Standard Celebrity is a rare and very collectible limited-edition guitar, produced as part of Gibson’s exclusive “Celebrity Series” in August of that year. With only 200 units made, this model stands out for its unique blend of traditional SG specs with a visual twist! There were 4 guitars made for Gibson's Celebrity range - an SG, Firebird, Les Paul and Chet Atkins model, all of which featured gold hardware, white plastics, a black finish and Ebony fingerboard. This one retains the original white plastic poker chip, knobs, truss rod cover and pickguard in the case but also comes with the pictured black repro plastics giving you the option to easily chop and change between the two.
The neck has a comfortably rounded '50s-style profile, measuring .820" at the 1st fret and .960" at the 12th, and is topped with an Ebony fingerboard with a 12-inch radius. Traditional trapezoid inlays paired with the 'not so traditional' Ebony fingerboard as well as the gold plated hardware give a nice blend of Standard/Custom appointments.
The SG Celebrity is equipped with a Gibson 490R humbucker in the neck position and a 498T in the bridge. These pickups, using Alnico II and V magnets respectively, produce a well-balanced tone with warmth, clarity, and bite. 
Hardware specs include the ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and a stopbar tailpiece, gold Schaller “Gibson Deluxe” tuners with keystone buttons. A 4-ply white/black “batwing” pickguard hot-stamped with the word “Celebrity” just over the neck tenon, and white bell knobs contribute to the guitar’s monochrome look. The narrow open-book headstock features a fibreboard veneer with a mother-of-pearl Gibson logo and crown inlay, along with a silk-screened “Celebrity Series” logo and a “Made in U.S.A.” stamp on the rear.
These don't come up too often given their limited production, so if you're looking for a cool SG Std with a twist this is a great shout!
