2013 Gibson J-45, Sunburst

A super clean 2013 Gibson Custom Shop J-45, finished in Vintage Cherry Sunburst and built in Bozeman, Montana. Gibson’s slope-shouldered dreadnought is one of those designs that needs little introduction, and this is a beautifully executed modern Custom Shop example with all the warmth, balance and familiarity you would hope for from a good J-45.

The gloss nitrocellulose Vintage Cherry Sunburst finish sits over a Sitka spruce top, paired with mahogany back and sides for that classic Gibson acoustic recipe. It is a combination that gives the guitar plenty of fundamental warmth and midrange character, with a clear, open response that works equally well for strummed chords, flatpicking or more relaxed fingerstyle playing. It feels lively without being overly bright, with the dry, woody quality that has made the J-45 such an enduring favourite.

The mahogany neck has a rosewood fingerboard with simple pearloid dot inlays, a 24.75" scale length and traditional nut width, keeping it firmly in familiar Gibson territory. It has that comfortable, easy-going acoustic feel that makes these guitars so instantly approachable, with enough substance in the hand to feel reassuring without feeling cumbersome.
